AneeMate Dev Update: Better Co-op, Catching Fixes and Smoother PC Play

Today's AneeMate update makes joining a friend more reliable, fixes everyday catching and building problems, and gives PC players more control over performance. From shared storage at the crystal to a clearer knockdown flow, the focus is on keeping your adventure moving. Here is what changed on 3 November 2026, and where we are heading next.
Jump into co-op. Stay in the adventure.
Playing together should start with joining your friend, not troubleshooting the lobby. This update addresses sign-in and joining problems, alongside the cases that left joining players floating in the lobby or launched them into the sky.
Once you are in, more of the small interactions work as they should. Joining players can select individual items from loot boxes and pick up berries. Those are everyday actions, but they matter when your team is trying to gather supplies and prepare for the next wave. You should be thinking about the run, not wondering why your friend can pick something up and you cannot.
The introduction is clearer too. A new co-op intro includes voice-over explaining the mode, while a yellow loading screen brings co-op tips into the moments between playing. Your starter selection now happens only once, keeping that first choice from repeatedly interrupting the experience.
If you are new to AneeMate, start with the gameplay overview. The island adventure and Co-op Survival are separate experiences, so choose the one you want to play before setting out.
A second chance when the wave gets rough
Being knocked down now has a clearer sequence. While downed, you move at 50% speed, giving the moment its own pace while a teammate has the chance to revive you. If nobody revives you, you move into spectating until the wave ends, then respawn.
That makes the transition from fighting to waiting easier to understand. You can follow the rest of the wave rather than being left wondering whether your character is stuck or your run has ended.
Communication has also been adjusted. Proximity voice chat is louder, and you can hear teammates even when you are facing away from them. Turning to watch an approaching threat should not mean losing the conversation with the person beside you.
Several other co-op fixes support the same goal. The map now shows your actual co-op position. Eldrion's cage is no longer trapped inside a rock. Clicking AneeMates in the tower-defense panel works again, Flamisau effects have been corrected, and a crash caused by robot shot effects has been fixed.
Your crystal is now the team's storage point
Bring your supplies together at the crystal. Press Enter there to open team storage, shared with the whole team. The top tabs now separate Build, Storage and AneeMates, making the different jobs easier to find.
Shared storage gives the team a common place to manage what it has gathered. The clearer tabs also help distinguish preparing a build from organising supplies or working with AneeMates. These are closely connected parts of a run, but they should not feel like the same screen doing several unexplained jobs.
This update also reduces hitches in co-op and prevents robots from spawning on terrain that has not loaded yet. The aim is a run that holds together from the first join through the later waves, including the moments when the world is still coming into view.
Catching, switching and getting back on your feet
A full backpack should not change which AneeMate you receive from a catch. That case has been corrected, so the catching result gives you the right AneeMate even when your backpack is full.
Switching AneeMates now preserves their HP, and each AneeMate has its own stamina. Their condition remains tied to the individual creature as you switch, rather than treating your whole group as if it shared one state.
Combat balance has changed as well. When you face higher-level wild AneeMates, the level gap now reduces their damage. The late-game HP curve has also been rebalanced. These are targeted combat adjustments; the update does not include a new universal damage formula or a promise that every encounter will feel the same.
We have also fixed a particularly frustrating interruption: losing movement after your kid character was defeated. The backpack now closes on death, so an open inventory no longer stays in the way at that moment. Gliding over water has received a fix too.
For a closer look at the creatures themselves, explore the MateBook. For the broader catching loop, our creature-adventure guide is a useful next stop.
Build with clearer feedback
Building should tell you what is happening. The builder now has clearer hints and a message when you do not have enough resources. Shields place and rotate correctly, and plants underneath buildings are cleared.
The world around your camp has received attention too. Wild AneeMates no longer walk through your buildings, and rain and light flicker under floors have been fixed. These changes help a structure feel like part of the world rather than something the surrounding systems ignore.
Gathering is more consistent: chopping with the staff counts every hit, while simply running through rocks no longer breaks them. The Plasma Rifle magazine is now 15, and menu music is back.
Epic capsule drops, with the numbers up front
Epic AneeMates can now drop from capsules. The update sets the Epic chance at 1% for Vault capsules and 2% for Elite capsules. It also adds a guaranteed Epic on every 50th Elite capsule.
The two percentages belong to different capsule types. The guarantee described here is specifically for Elite capsules; it should not be read as a Vault guarantee or as a claim that every group of 50 capsules produces a particular total.
More control over how AneeMate runs on your PC
There are new FPS limit options: Unlimited, 30, 60, 90, 120, 144, 165, 240 and Match screen. You can choose a cap that fits how you want to play rather than working around a narrow set of presets.
Adaptive VSync has been adjusted to address the drop to 38 FPS on high-refresh monitors. Alongside the co-op hitch reductions, game-thread optimisations target better performance on mid-range PCs. We are continuing to work on the PC experience, including the interruptions that become most noticeable during a busy run.
These changes are not a hardware benchmark or a guarantee of a particular frame rate. If you are checking your setup, see our PC requirements guide. If you report a performance issue, include your hardware, selected cap, settings and whether you were in the island adventure or co-op. That context makes the report more useful than an FPS number on its own.
Clearer menus. Working accounts.
Loading screens are smoother. Long AneeMate names fit better, crafting names are more readable, and Yipee descriptions have been clarified. These are the details you meet repeatedly while exploring, preparing and catching, so readability matters throughout a session.
Account linking works again and generates the link code. Feedback is reaching us again too. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to explain what went wrong, especially when a short description or a clear reproduction step helped us find the problem.
Shipping every day. Building towards what's next.
Our approach is to keep shipping, listen to what happens when people play and keep improving the next build. AI-assisted development is part of that ongoing work, alongside the practical job of making AneeMate feel better on the devices players use.
PC is the immediate focus. Mobile development and mobile design are also in progress, with work continuing on how the experience will fit a smaller screen. That is development work, not an announcement that a mobile version is available today.
We are also working towards bringing AneeMate to Steam by the end of 2026. That is our current target, not a confirmed release date. We will share the release details when they are ready.
For now, play AneeMate on the Epic Games Store, try the updated systems and keep the reports coming. Join a friend, head back out catching or spend some time on your camp. Tell us what feels better and what still gets in your way.
