How AneeMate
actually plays
You land on the island with nothing. Twenty minutes later you have a creature, a fire, and a reason to go back out. Everything below happens in your first evening.
Spawn on the island
No lobby, no loadout screen, no fifteen minute tutorial. The island loads, the camera settles on you, and the first AneeMate is already somewhere in the grass ahead.
Pick who you are
Choose your kid, name them, and pick the first AneeMate that comes with you. Nature, Fire or Water, the choice you already understand.
Learn by walking
Resources are on the path, not in a menu. Wood, stone, berries. The first creature you meet shows you what it eats by what it stands next to.
Catch your second
Wear it down or feed it, then throw a Yipee. If your party has room you can step into it on the spot, otherwise it waits in your bag.
Become the creature
One key and you are inside it. Its speed, its stamina, its attacks, its element. Swim across as the water one, take the cliff as the rock one, press the same key and you are yourself again with your backpack untouched.
This is the part no other creature game gives you, and the island is built around it.
Build a place to come back to
A fire, a wall, a roof, a bed. The base is where your AneeMates live, where food is stored and where the map starts opening up.
Free placement
Snap pieces together or place them freely. Walls, floors, roofs, fences, storage, lights.
From what you gather
Everything is built from what the island gives you. No premium currency anywhere in the build menu.
Workstations
Crafting benches turn raw materials into tools, food and gear for the next trip out.
It stays
Your base is saved with your world. Nothing you build is on a timer and nobody can take it.
Farm, and let them work it
Plant a garden and it grows on its own. Put an AneeMate on it and it grows what that creature is made of: a Nature one brings in leaves and fruit, a Water one keeps it watered, a Fire one dries and preserves.
Food is not decoration. Food is how a creature levels and how it evolves, so the garden is the engine of the whole game.
Every AneeMate you save stays saved
Three walk with you. The rest live at the base: in the house, in the garden, around the fire. You can release any of them from the bag and they stay part of the place, doing something useful, until you want them back.
In your party
Up to three at a time, and any of them can be the body you are wearing.
In the house
Released mates live at the base and keep growing between your trips.
In the MateBook
Everyone you ever met, with their stats, their moves and their evolution chain.
Protect your base
Robots patrol the island and they do not like what you are building. They come in waves, they aim for what you made, and the creatures you raised are what stands between them and it.
Turrets and walls buy you time. The AneeMate you are wearing wins the fight.
The keys that matter
K
Become the next AneeMate in your party, or go back to being yourself.
H
Feed the creature you are wearing the best food in your bag.
P
Open the MateBook: every creature, its level, its moves, what it still needs to evolve.
B
Building mode. Place, rotate, snap, remove.
All of them can be rebound, and the game shows your own keys, not these letters.
Go and meet one
Free to play for as long as AneeMate is in Early Access. It becomes a paid game at full release, so the cheapest time to start is now.
